Barber, is officially listed on The National Register of Historic Places. The house was built for John Carey, a mayor responsible for exceptional development of the city of Denison in the early 1900’s and Marietta Greek Carey, born in 1856 in Crawford County, Iowa to a pioneer family. This graciously restored home, built circa 1893, has original southern pine and oak floors, original woodwork, a beautiful staircase, and pocket doors. The Cheryl Lee room features a double brass bed, antique writing desk and lace curtains. Marietta's room features antique furniture, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper and an adjacent sitting room with skylight. Occupants of either room will have their own private bathroom and shower off the hallway. A child’s bedroom with a twin bed, across the hall from Marietta's room, is available for an additional $35 per night.

RESTRICTIONS: The Carey House is a non-smoking facility. Animals are not permitted. There is a $25 handling fee for all cancellations. There will be no refund of the deposit for cancellations made less than two days from date of arrival. OPTIONS:
The entire Carey House Inn may be rented by the week for $600. The Carey House Inn is also available for small events such has weddings, birthday parties, showers, club meetings, office parties and receptions. Please call for rates and information.
